Castlerea, County Roscommon boasts a rich culture of music, song, drama and dance. This culture has been carefully nurtured and handed down through generations. It is now the turn of our generation to hold and carry this torch, and pass it on to future generations burning brighter than ever.
Castlerea Community Arts Group were formed 15 years ago. The group of people involved come from various groups in Castlerea parish who have a tradition of involvement in drama, music, craft works, traditional music and dance. The need for a dedicated space within our community that would facilitate all such activities and allow for the development and preservation of our rich and varied heritage led us to Trinity Church.
This historic building has been beautifully restored to a high standard, using best conservation practice to preserve the fabric of the original structure.
The most stunning stained glass windows provide a spectacle of colour and design.
The original Queen Anne timber trusses have been exposed to open up the vaulted ceiling. Panels of cut stone and classic interior lighting help to create a beautiful venue with a unique atmosphere. To the rear of the building we have built a modern extension with kitchen facilities and meeting rooms which can facilitate public and private functions.
