This is Eve Enslers’ iconic and groundbreaking play, written in 1992 it shocked enthralled and engaged audiences all over the world. This production by BOW Productions coming to Castlerea Arts Centre on Saturday 14 th April  at 8 pm is a re working of the classic. This production looks at modern Irish women and has been re worked, re written  by the creative team of Reidín Dunne and Michelle Reade .What is the state of Moder n Irish Woman hood? You will have to come to see the play to find out! While the play deals with strong themes and certainly asks important question of its audience it is hilarious and heartwarming. This production has been touring nationally since January to sold out houses and standing ovations, this version has looked to find the humor and the real lived experiences of Irish women. While the Vagina Monolgues has always appealed to women this production really welcomes men and the male audiences who have attended in Dublin, Cork, Offaly and Cavan have rolled in the aisles and left the theatre with a lot of food for thought, in light of recent high profile media cases this production of the Vagina Monolgues has never seemed more urgent.
